JAMMU, Jan 8: A delegation of Migrant Contractors Association (MCA) led by its Vice Chairman, Desh Rattan Pandita today called on Relief & Rehabilitation Minister, Javed Mustafa Mir at his residence here and submitted a charter of demands to him.
The delegation raised various issues related to contractors of migrant community and their problems were thoroughly discussed with the Minister.
The other members of the delegation were S,K. Koul and Pintu Ji.
They informed the Minister that Engineering Wing of Relief Organization does not allow them to work despite knowing that they are unemployed and have been working as contractors for over two decades with the Organisation.
They said it is an injustice with them as they were without job & their position has been made like beggars by the authorities in Engineering Wing of the organisation as they have no other source of income.
The Minister assured that he will look into the matter and their problems will be redressed.
