Massive operation in Handwara

Srinagar, May 25: Militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) today fired upon an Army patrol party in Rajwar forests of North Kashmir’s Handwara area in the frontier district of Kupwara tonight.
A joint operation was launched by Army’s 21 RR, 6RR and Special Operations Group Handwara (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police in Rajwar forest area of Handwara this morning .
They had information about presence of around 2 to 4 militants in forest area.
The entire area has been cordoned off and more troops have been rushed to the area so as to prevent militants from fleeing.
In the meantime, Army fired in air at Ganjipora Burran in Pattan area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district this evening. Army had cordoned off the area and they fired few gun shots in air.
