Many industrial units suffer due to non-release of power connections

JAMMU, Mar 30:  Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) has alleged that many industrial units are suffering due to non-release of power connections.
A meeting of the BBIA was held here today under the presidentship of Lalit Mahajan, to discuss the problems being faced by member units in respect of delay in the sanction of new power connections of the Industrial Units by the designated committee.
The members raised serious concern  over non-conduct of designated committee meeting for sanction of new power connections of the Industrial units which is pending since December 2016. With this delay, many unit holders are suffering  badly as they have already invested crores of rupees on the  plant and machinery and sitting idle due to non- release of power connections. The people had  applied long back and in spite of power load available at Bari Brahmana Grid Station,  they have been denied power connections and this attitude of the authorities is also resulting into huge financial loss to State exchequer.
It is pertinent to mention here that as per the Govt Order No.152-PDD of 2011 dated 28-04-2011 by the virtue of which the regular monthly meeting should be held to clear the pending cases of Power sanction where as the department has failed to honour the Govt Order which shows the casual attitude of the Power Development Department, towards the development of Industrial sector in the State.
BBIA appealed to the Dy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Kumar Singh who is our Power Minister,  to intervene into this matter  and issue necessary orders to concerned officials for the sanction of new Power connections to resolve the issue enabling the unit holders to start their units.
