Manmohan elected J&K Jat Mahasabha president

JAMMU, July 21: Former Mayor of  Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Ch Manmohan Singh has been elected as president of All J&K Jat Mahasabha.
In  a  Jat Mahasabha `Samellan’ held at Narwal Pain on Airport Road here today, Ch Manmohan Singh was announced as new president of the Jat Mahasabha, J&K in presence of All India Jat Mahasabha general secretary, Ch Yudhvir Singh,  Ch Harpal Singh- senior vice president and Ch Dharam Vir- secretary of All India Jat Mahasabha besides Ch Rakesh Tiket- president All India Kissan Union.
In this grand congregation of J&K Jat biradari, the speakers congratulated  Capt Amrinder Singh, former Punjab Chief Minister on being elected as president of All India Jat Mahasabha. The function was organised by All India Jat Mahasabha under the leadership of Ch Manmohan Singh while above mentioned Central body leaders presided over. The main purpose  of organizing this ‘Samellan’ was to strengthen the community and reactivate the defunct Jat Sabha in the State.
All India general secretary, Ch Yudhvir Singh while addressing gathering declared that All India Jat Mahasabha was the only registered Jat Sabha in India having its own constitution/ bye-laws. He said All India Jat Mahasabha has dissolved the previous J&K Jat Sabha  due to its non-functioning in the State  for the last one decade. Therefore, in response to this demand Ch Manmohan Singh  (Ex-Mayor) was declared as new president of the J&K Jat Mahasabha.
On this occasions, the Jat leaders projected the demand of providing OBC status to Jat community, ownership rights of the land to all the DPs of Indo-Pak wars, RBA status to families living within 8 kms of border  and one time settlement of the issues of all refugees. The new president assured the community to work for their welfare and project their issues forcefully before the Government and also at the appropriate forum.
On this occasion, a 31-member committee (non-political) was also announced by the All India general secretary to strengthen the Sabha at block and constituency level. The members of the committee are- Ch Amarnath ( former president), Ch Jeet Ram, Maj Harnam Singh, Capt Lal Chand, Col R N Gangal, Capt Moti Ram, Ch Dev Raj, Master Bhajan Singh, Balbir Singh (SP Rtd), Ch Gian Singh, Gurdev Singh, Ch Sham Lal, Col (Dr) S S Majotra, Ch Rashpal Singh, Joginder Choudhary, Ghar Singh, Gurvinder Singh, Kehar Singh, Krishan Singh, Surjeet Singh, Manmohan Singh, Ch Jeet Raj, Hans Raj, Mohinder Singh, Capt Tirath Singh, Ch Om Singh, Prof Suram Singh, Roshan Choudhary, Hurmeet Singh, Capt M L Choudhary and Ch Rajinder Singh Bhardwaj.
