SRINAGAR, Feb 5: Police today said it have arrested a non-local drug peddler and recovered poppy straw on his instance in Qazigund area of Kulgam district in south Kashmir.
A police spokesman said acting on specific information, police intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number PB07-0245 at main Chowk in Qazigund.
“On checking of the vehicle, police recovered ten kilograms of poppy straw. A man who was driving the vehicle has been taken into custody and was identified as Arimindar Singh. Police have registered a case in this regard and investigation has been taken up,” he added.
