JAMMU, Nov 9: A man was held today with illicit liquor in Akhnoor area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, during patrol duty at Manda in Akhnoor area this evening, police officials intercepted a pedestrian on suspicion and recovered 20 pouches of 250 ml each of desi whisky from his bag on checking.
The accused identified as Omkar Singh son of Swarm Singh, resident of Dera Baba, tehsil and district Reasi was arrested on the spot and recovered illicit liquor seized.
In this connection, a case FIR No 233/2017 under Section 48 A Excise Act was registered and investigations started.
