KATRA, Nov 12: A middle aged man was found hanging under mysterious circumstances in premises of a hotel, here this afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Makhan Lal, son of Madan Lal of Sarmoli in Udhampur, who was presently putting up at Serbad, Katra and had been working as a painter. His body was found hanging from ceiling fan hook in a room of servants’ quarters of Hotel New Shanker Palace.
On getting information, a Police team reached the spot and shifted the dead body to hospital for postmortem and other legal formalities.
According to SHO Katra, Inspector Arvind Sambyal, the deceased used to visit the said hotel and was familiar with the staff members. Though it appears to be a case of suicide as there was no injury mark on body of the deceased, a case has been registered in this connection for further investigation, he added.
