UDHAMPUR, Apr 12: A young man was crushed to death when a rolling boulder hit a car, he was travelling in, on the National Highway, near Samroli, this morning.
The deceased was identified as Khurshid Ahmed (38), son of Abdul Karim of village Bai Chenani. He was on way from Udhampur to Chenani in Maruti car JK02G-5923 when a big boulder, rolling from nearby hillock, hit the vehicle.
The mishap took place around 6.15 a.m and the victim reportedly died on the spot while the car got completely damaged . According to Police, the deceased was apparently sitting on front seat while the driver seemed to have fled the scene after incident since the car was stolen from Jammu a few days back.
Later body of the deceased was shifted to hospital for legal formalities while Chenani Police has registered a case in this connection.
