JAMMU, Feb 25: A 36-yr-old man today allegedly committed suicide by jumping from bridge on River Tawi in Gujjar Nagar area.
“A man identified as Tara Chand, son of Prem Chand, resident of Ramkote, tehsil Billawar, district Kathua, presently living in Gorkha Nagar, this evening jumped from a bridge River Tawi in Gujjar Nagar area,” police here said.
They said that police and members of civil defence were immediately pressed into service to evacuate him but could not save him.
They said that no suicide note or any other document was recovered from his possession, while investigations under section 174 of CrPC have been initiated.
