RAMBAN, Feb 14: Police arrested a man along with large quantity of illicit liquor pouches from Bus Stand area here.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Ramban police station intercepted a person for checking at Bus Stand here.
During checking, police recovered 46 pouches of illicit liquor from the possession of the person and arrested him on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Munshi Ram, son of Paras Ram, a resident of Ramnagar, district Udhampur, at present Ramsoo.
He was smuggling the illicit liquor pouches to Ramsoo for sale among the people for illegitimate profits.
A case under FIR Number 27/16 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Ramban police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Ramban police station Inspector Pardeep Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
