Man arrested for spreading anti-national propaganda through social sites

DODA, Aug 20: Police arrested a man for spreading anti-national propaganda through social sites.
As per police spokesman, Social Media Monitoring Cell of District Police Doda observed that 8 persons are spreading anti-national and anti-social propaganda through social media and are disturbing peaceful atmosphere of the area.
Acting over this, police arrested one person, who has been identified as Bashir Ahmed, son of Ghulam Rasool Butt of Dewal Gundna, district Doda. He was involved in spreading and posting anti-national and anti social comments regularly on his Facebook ID and WhatsApp.
The arrested person was trying to mislead the youth of the area and also trying to disturb the peace and communal harmony of the area.
A case under FIR Number 174/17 under Section 153-A RPC has been registered at police station Doda and further investigation is going on.
SSP Doda Mohammad Shabir has warned the youth to stay away from such type of illegal activities and also advised them to use social media cautiously. As many as 6 youth were handed over to their parents after counseling as their role was less harmful, he said and appealed to the parents to keep watch on the activities of their wards.
