JAMMU, Sept 27: The Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha has decided to celebrate 151st Birth Anniversary of Sher-e-Duggar, Lala Hans Raj Mahajan and organise several events in this connection.
Talking to media-persons here today, president of the Sabha, Ramesh Chander Gupta said that in connection with the birthday of Lala Hans Raj Gupta, a Hawan Yagya and special Pooja will be performed at Lala Hans Raj Park on Gurdwara Sunder Singh Marg on October 2. It will be followed by several contests like drawing, Rangoli, quiz and devotional/ regional songs contests on different days. The children from various schools will be participating in these contests.
The Sabha president, who was flanked by several members of executive body, further revealed that the main function will be held on November 19 where students and other members from the community, will be honoured for their outstanding performance in academics, sports, art and other fields. Those acquiring higher positions amongst the community members shall also be honoured during the function. It was appealed by the Central Mahajan Sabha Committee members to the general biradari to actively participate in these comings events in connection with the birthday celebrations of Lala Hans Raj Mahajan.
Executive Committee members, Amar Nath Gupta, Shiv Partap Gupta, Chander Mohan Gupta, Rajiv Gupta, Om Parkash Gupta, Ram Saroop Gupta, Sanjay Jandial, CP Gupta, Om Parkash (Kaku Shah), Balbir Gupta, Ravi Rohmetra and others were also present.
