Maha Shivratri important festival of KPs: Veeri

JAMMU, Feb 23: Minister of Revenue, Relief and Rehabilit-ation Abdul Rehman Veeri has expressed the hope that the festival of Maha Shivratri will bring peace and prosperity in the State.
Addressing a gathering of PDP Migrant Cell activists   on the eve of Maha Shivratri here today, the Minister said directives were given to all the concerned officers to ensure all facilities in the camps and non camp areas including supply of all essential items besides power and water facilities.
He said Maha Shivratri is most important religious festival of Kashmiri Pandits and members of majority community used to be part of the celebrations in Valley. He expressed the hope that good days will again come and the members of Pandit community will celebrate the festival again with the same charm and enthusiasm in Valley as they used to do before the mass migration in 1989.
He, while greeting the people on the occasion said special instructions were given to administration to make proper arrangements by the government and Chief Minster Mehbooba Muti herself visited the camps two days back to greet the community members in advance to have at and on spot study of their problems.
He said as Relief, Revenue and Rehabilitation Minister he  will try his best to redress the problems of the displaced people.
