LS adjourned after ruckus: House pays tribute to Martyrs of Dec 13 terror attack on Parl

NEW DELHI : Lok Sabha on Thursday was adjourned for about 10 minutes after repeated plea by the Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to allow smooth conduct of the business went unheeded.
Opposition members trooped into the well of the House carrying placards and raising anti-government slogans.
Congress members continued to raise the Rafale issue while among others TDP MPs demanded Special Category status for Andhra Pradesh. Speaker told TDP MPs that their agitation in the House was unwarranted as there was already a no-confidence motion on the issue and a detailed discussion held on the issue.
Earlier, the House paid tributes to five Delhi police personnel and others who lost lives on December 13, 2001 when terrorists had attacked Parliament.
After the obituary references by Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, the members stood in silence for a brief period.
The Speaker said this occasion should also unite all countrymen and women in a purpose of unity to fight the menace of terrorism.
