Lok Sabha to have 1st woman Secy Gen in Snehlata Shrivastava

NEW DELHI: Retired IAS officer Snehlata Shrivastava will be the new Secretary General of the Lok Sabha, the first women to hold the post.

Ms Snehlata has been appointed by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan in the rank and status of Cabinet Secretary with effect from 1 December  one, a Lok Sabha Secretariat release said here on Wednesday.

A 1982 officer of the MP cadre, she has 35 years of rich and varied administrative experience. She has held several important positions at the Centre, as the Secretary, Department of Justice, Ministry of Law & Justice; Special/Additional Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance.
