Live up to people’s expectations: new J&K DGP to officers

 

JAMMU: After assuming his office as State Police Chief, Dr SP Vaid today said that interaction with the subordinate ranks was must to keep the morale of Jawans high.

On his arrival to Police Headquarters here, Dr Vaid convened a meeting of the officers and discussed with them the functioning of the police at different levels. Director General of Police (DGP) stressed that it was necessary to focus on the priorities and ensure coordinated efforts at all levels.

The DGP said crime and drug abuse were the areas where the force has to enhance its capabilities. “We have to undertake strenuous efforts and curb the activities of the criminals, who pose a great challenge for the force. People’s cooperation is mandatory to get the desired results in our fight against crime. Since men in khaki are eye-centric and people repose faith in the force. We have to live up to their expectations,” said the DGP.

DGP asked the officers to chalk out a mechanism to address the difficulties faced by the cops in the field. He stressed upon them to make frequent visits to their subordinate formations and take on spot stock of hardships faced by the cops, for their redressal at different levels. (AGENCIES)
