SRINAGAR, Oct 24: In continuation with the special drive with regard to post flood inspections, supervisory staff of Drug & Food Control Organisation conducted inspections at Qaimoh, Kulgam, Wanpoh, Harnag, Pulwama, Shopian, Tral, Chadoora, Goshbugh, Sultanpur, Indergam, Hyderbagh, Nowgam, Natipora, Baluchipora-Soura, Main Chowk Soura and opposite SKIMS Soura.
During the drive, 93 drug sale establishments (retail & wholesale) were inspected among which licenses of two firms were suspended for a period of three days and drugs worth Rs. 2000 were confiscated by the supervisory staff. These are M/s Al Amin Medicate Natipora and M/s Pervaiz Chemists and Druggists.
The exercise has been necessitated at the basis of inputs that certain vendors are indulging in sale of flood hit medicines to the end users which in all likelihood is bound to pose serious health risk to the consumers.
