LD registers 121 shops

UDHAMPUR, Nov 26: Labour Department Udhampur organized Awareness-cum-Registration camp at Manwal.
The programme was organized under the supervision of Assistant Labour Commissioner, Udhampur Aamir Choudhary. The programme aims at making people aware about various Acts and Schemes of the Labour Department.
During the camp, shopkeepers were sensitized for registration of their shops under the Shops & Establishment Act, 1966. They were also sensitized about various welfare schemes of  Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board and were ensured that a similar Awareness Cum Registration camp will be held for registration of eligible labourers under the BOCWWA.
About 121 shops were registered under the Shops & Establishment Act, 1966 with realization of revenue to the tune of Rs 24,500 in a single day.
The camp was also attended by the Tehsildar Majalta, Sourabh Sharma, who impressed upon all the shopkeepers to avail the benefits of various schemes of Labour Department and prepare their labor cards at the earliest so they would avail maximum benefit of various initiatives of the Government.
