Lal Singh takes stock of people’s grievances

KATHUA, Sept 2: Minister for Forests, Environment and Ecology Ch Lal Singh today convened a public meeting at Mahanpur of tehsil Basohli and took stock of people’s grievances besides reviewing the status of development works being executed in the area.
Meanwhile, various deputations from village Palal, Dhalmarh, Nowshera, Bhanore, Dhar Mahanpur and other surrounding areas called on the Minister and apprised him of their demands and problems which mainly pertained to augmentation of PHE and PDD infrastructure , shortage of teaching staff and upgradation of existing educational and health infrastructure.
The Minister assured the people that all their genuine concerns will be looked into and taken up with the concerned authorities for an early redressal.
He highlighted various welfare and development schemes of the Central and State Governments which are being effectively implemented  for  uplifting the socio-economic conditions of the people. He also exhorted upon the people to actively participate in the developmental process of their respective areas .
He stressed  that forests should be preserved and officials should mobilize people for its preservation.
Highlighting Union Government’s endeavour to promote waterways as a more cost effective, economically viable and environment friendly mode of transportation, Lal Singh said that such facilities will be developed at Hut Mashka in Basohli to give tourists altogether a different experience.
Later, deputations from village Kudera, Sannan Ghat, Rehan, Nagrota, Plassi, Palakh, Jandrota and Sandhar met the Minister at Basohli and apprised him of their demands and problems.
Lal Singh directed the concerned officers to work proactively to resolve their problems at the earliest.
Later, the Minister announced construction of a Forest Guest house at Basohli.
