KPS Education wing distributes scholarships

JAMMU, June 29: A function was organized by Kashmiri Pandit Sabha (KPS) Education Wing to distribute scholarship cheques for the year 2016-2017 (first quarter) to 130 students. The scholarships are offered on merit-cum-poverty basis to weaker sections of the community to boost their educational capabilities. The programme was chaired by K. K. Khosa president KP Sabha and B. B. Bakshi was guest of honour on the occasion.
Khosa exhorted the students to tirelessly work to attain new heights as sky is the limit in global economy. He also emphasized to educational counselling as the time to seek guidance in education is a valuable asset. He wanted the students to retain cultural values along with education. Also the students should converse in their mother tongue to preserve age old language, Khosa added.
Mr. Bakshi in his address urged the students to work hard to bring name and fame to family and community. The scholarship should be used earnestly for the purpose for which it is given.
Among others who spoke on the occasion included A. K. Braroo Sr. Vice-President, KPS, B. L. Tiku. The programme was compared by Education Secretary . Ashok Khar. Subash Dhar gave proposed vote of thanks.
