KPs’ delegation calls on Delhi Govt representatives

JAMMU, Oct 17: A delegation of various KP organizations of Delhi NCR called on Divisional Commissioner cum Revenue Secretary to Delhi Government and held a meeting on the pending issues and problems faced by the displaced Pandits with her. All the issues were threadbare discussed with Divisional Commissioner and she was requested early settlement of the problems.
The meeting was arranged by Kashmir Samiti Delhi (KSD) led by Vijay Raina its President.
Delhi Government was represented by DCs of all districts and representatives of MCD, NDMC and other departments.
Ramesh Raina, Manoj Bindroo, vice presidents of KSD and Sumeer Chrungoo its general secretary, KPC president Kundan Kashmiri, DK Gangoo president Vishali, Vinod Jad president Shalimar Garden were among other prominent people present in the meeting.
The Divisional Commissioner informed the delegation that it has agreed to the demand of setting up of a Dedicated Cell and a Single Window System for J & K migrants. On the issue of bifurcation, addition and deletion, she said they have contacted J & K Resident Commissioner to seek his help in this regard. KSD suggested that instead of Resident Commissioner, Relief Commissioner, Jammu should be approached and KSD assured full cooperation for the same so that the Government can frame a policy before implementing the MHA order.
The delegation demanded that till the time such a system is created, there shouldn’t be any disruption in disbursement of AMR. Further, the payment must be made regularly on monthly basis which was agreed.
On the question of enhancement of relief, it stressed that payment must be made from the date as set by MHA with next AMR and the officials informed that they have raised the pending bills with MHA and hoped that it will be paid soon.
The authorities assured that it will look into issue of release of AMR for Kapashera counter and correction of names will be done under the emerging policy.
Divisional Commissioner agreed to consider 40 cases whose relief was stopped.
KSD also raised the demand for compensation of 31 INA shopkeepers. It demanded construction of flats for migrants on pattern of Jagti in Delhi and the authorities said that they will recommend the same to MHA.
Some valuable points were given by Kundan Kashmiri president KPC, Gangoo demanded fresh registrations for all those KPs who could not get themselves registered at the time of migration due to some reasons and stressed on health insurance for KPs.
