Kavinder listens public grievances, assures redressal

JAMMU, Oct 22: Speaker Legislative Assembly and MLA Gandhi Nagar Kavinder Gupta today undertook extensive tour of various localities of his constituency and listened to the issues of the people.
He visited areas of Channi Himmat, Deeli, Adarsh Vihar, Sector-B Sainik Colony, Lakshmi Narayan Temple, Raika and Sunjwan panchayat and interacted with the local residents.
The Speaker was briefed by the people of Sainik Colony and Deeli areas regarding the needs of the area like the issue of power supply to the tube well and the up gradation of existing transformers, blacktopping of roads and immediate need for construction of deep drain.
Replying to the issues put forth by the people, the Speaker said that the an additional two transformers have been sanctioned for the area and the work for its installation will be completed within month along with the blacktopping of roads and construction of deep drain.
He also inaugurated the work for lying of marble pathway leading to Shree Lakshmi Narayan Temple Gandhi Nagar to be executed by Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC).
Kavinder Gupta asked the engineers of the JMC to ensure that quality marble is laid so that it adds to the beauty of the surroundings as well as interior of this important temple of Jammu city.
President of Shree Lakshmi Narayan Temple Trust, GS Charak apprised the Speaker about various works taken up to improve the amenities for devotees in the temple complex. He said that new temple of Shree Yantra has been added in the complex which is one of the few such temples in India. An elaborate 3-day religious programme has been finalised by the Trust for inauguration of this important temple from November 23 this year in which scholars and priests from Haridwar will participate. Members of the Trust were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, the Speaker also held various public meeting at Raika and Sunjwan and listened to the grievances of the people by visiting various areas of these panchayats. The residents demanded up-gradation of main road, lanes and drains, protection works for their house and lands, regular supply of ration, up-gradation of primary school and implementation of state sponsored and centrally sponsored schemes.
He impressed upon the officers to aware the masses about various schemes and hold regular camps so that benefits will reach to the grass root level.
SDM South Sonu Pargal, BDO Satwari Shahid Mughal, Xen PWD (R&B), Rajan Mengi, Ankush Gupta, Er Ashwani Khosla, Balwant Singh, Choudhary Mohammad Iqbal, Amit Gupta, Maan Singh, Liaqat Ali, Rohit Khosla and many others were present on the occasion.
