Kavinder inaugurates All India Dogri Writers’ Conference

JAMMU, Dec 21: Kavinder Gupta, Speaker, State Legislative Assembly today inaugurated 2-day All India Dogri Writers’ Conference at Abhinav Theatre.
Darshan Darshi, Prominent Dogri Poet, intellectual and writer presided while Prof. Lalit Magotra, Convenor, Dogri language, Sahitya Akademi, Delhi presented Key-note address, Dr. Aziz Hajini, Secretary and Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages were also present in the presidium.
In the inaugural session, two publications titled- “Duggar Da Sanskritik Itihaas” and “Sudish Pichori Ne Aakheya Haa” a  Dogri translation of Punjabi short-stories of Dr. Baljit Raina and Dogri translation by  Yash Paul Nirmal, Research Asstt., JKAACL and renowned Dogri Writer were also released.
Kavinder Gupta, while speaking on the occasion said that Dogri language and literature written in last 15years has established a respectful space in the contemporary literature being written in other Indian languages. He complimented the Cultural Academy for organizing this 2-day All India Dogri Writers’ Conference and said that in the Conference the issues like Development of Dogri literature, Dogri language as mother-tongue and Dogra shall be discussed. He stressed on the need to speak Dogri language in our day to day life.
Darshan Darshi, while delivering his presidential address said that it is the need of the time that the intellectuals and writers may discuss the Dogri language, its challenges in the global era. He said that the key-note address presented by Prof. Lalit Magotra very successfully raised the issues related to the theme of the Conference and hoped that the papers presented in all the sessions will contribute a healthy discussion on the challenges faced by the regional languages, particularly Dogri as mother-tongue.
Earlier, Dr Aziz Hajini said that JKAACL has planned some major national and international activities in near future in the fields of Art, Literature and Culture.
Ashok Gupta, Editor Dogri conducted the proceedings of the inaugural session and Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary presented vote of thanks.
In the first paper reading session, Prof. N.D Sharma, Dr. Goutam Vyathit, N.D Jamwal and Dr. Veena Gupta were in the presidium and those who presented their papers were Dr. Om Goswami on the topic ‘An evaluation of Dogri Short-story of 21st Century’, Deshbandhu Dogra ‘Nutan’ on the topic An evaluation of Dogri Novel of 21st Century and Dr. Joginder Singh on the topic ‘E-World and Dogri Literature.
In the last session of the first day, a Kahani Goshthi was also held in which Nirmal Vikram presented her short-story entitled “Lal Diary”, Smt. Santosh Sangra presented her short-story entitled “Lammi Doari”, Chttarpal readout  his short-story on Namen Barahe De Namen Sankalp . Besides this, Raj Rahi presented his short-story. The Short Story of Ved Rahi entitled  “Chanderkant Di Notebook”    was read out by Yash Paul  Nirmal. Desh Bandhu Dogra ‘Nutan,  Mohan Singh and Dr.Krishan Lal, Hon’ble MLA Khour   were in the presidium of this session.  Dr. Rattan Lal Basotra, Asstt. Editor  conducted the proceedings of the second session.
