JAMMU, Apr 16: Jugal Kishore Sharma, BJP MP from Jammu-Poonch constituency along with Bali Bhagat, Minister for Health, Sham Choudhary Minister for PHE, Rajeev Sharma MLA Akhnoor and Krishan Lal Bhagat MLA Chamb held a meeting with NHIDCL and Wadia Consultancy for expediting the process of upgrading of Jammu-Akhnoor National Highway for its 4 Laning.
Jugal Kishore Sharma took stock of work done for the framing of Detailed Project Report and discussed the upcoming issues for upgradation and 4 lanning of Jammu-Akhnoor National Highway. He revealed that present situation of the National Highway has become the accident prone and many people lost their lives due to accidents while plying their vehicle on the road.
He further added that the provision of funds was provided in the package announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi but still the work was getting delayed by days and months. He instructed that all the legal formalities should be completed soon and DPR prepared at the earliest so that the construction work for the 4 lanning of Jammu Akhnoor National Highway could get started.
Bali Bhagat said that the Jammu Akhnoor National highway is the main feeder and primary source to reach most parts of his constituency and it should be constructed soon so that the inhabitants would get a sigh of relief.
Sham Lal Choudhary added that the graph of National Highway is made adjacent to the canal and service road must be constructed so that beautification of canal would be done and cleaning of canal done in equal span of times.
Rajeev Sharma discussed the importance of the National Highway which is the main source for the development of Akhnoor constituency as also Rajouri and Poonch.
Krishan Lal Bhagat thanked the MP for taking interest for the early commencement of the upgradation work as it would be a great boon to connect the rural areas with the urban parts of Jammu.
Vijay Kumar, General Manager NHIDCL and RN Kapoor of TL Wadia Consultancy assured the MP and other dignitaries that the detailed feasibity report would be submitted till the end of July and further formalities would be completed soon to execute the work of said road.
