JAMMU, Dec 17: Up in arms against NGT verdict declaring Amarnath Ji cave shrine as ‘silence zone’ and  dangerous bids of the secessionist forces to erase “Shaivism” from Kashmir, Panther activists staged an aggressive protest demonstration near Press Club here today.
The demonstration  was led by Harsh Dev Singh, chairman JKNPP and the agitated protestors also torched an  effigy of the Saffron party to express their anger and resentment.
Terming the NGT order  as ‘Tughlaki farman,’ Harsh Dev Singh said that  unwarranted intervention in the religious rituals of the Hindus had not only hurt their sentiments but was also unconstitutional in nature.  He  also made it clear that “Arti” and “Jaikara” shall not stop come what may.
Referring to a reply under RTI filed by him, Singh revealed that out of 8 new Highways sanctioned by the GoI last year to the State of J&K assuring 100 percent  funding for all the projects, the construction of Highway No. 501 along the holy cave of Amarnath Ji shrine measuring 105 kms in length was out rightly refused by the BJP-PDP combine by citing environmental reasons.
Smelling a deep rooted conspiracy hatched by the anti-national and communal sects in Kashmir,  Harsh Dev Singh said that exodus of Hindus from the Valley, several attempts to sabotage Amarnath Yatra and killings of pilgrims in Kashmir was a well knit plan of such forces to intensify cultural invasion to establish Islamic hegemony in the State.
“Now the criminal silence of the BJP over its proxy order to impose restrictions on Shaivik rituals has spilled the beans over its pseudo stand on kernel philosophy. It proved that it could swallow anything to remain in power”, Harsh maintained.
Admonishing the BJP for taking U-turn on its core ideology, Singh pointed out that denial of Abhinav Gupt Yatra in Kashmir last year, attempts to change the nomenclature of Shankracharya temple to ‘Takht-e-Suleman in Srinagar, incentives for the militants while empty coffers for the martyrs and gallows for the nationalists, service tax akin to ‘Jazia’ on helicopter services to Hindu shrines in the State, refusal of Amarnath Highway and declaration of Amarnath cave as silence zone by proxy order, etc narrated the sordid tale of BJP’s servile surrenders before the separatist forces.
