JKDF organizes seminar on ‘Kishtwar Riots, Role of Jammu’

JAMMU, Sept 15: Jammu  and Kashmir Democratic Front (JKDF) today organized a seminar titled “Kishtwar Riots and Role of Jammu” to express solidarity with the victims and affected people of Kishtwar of erstwhile Doda district.
The hundreds of  party activists from all over the State including riot hit Kishtwar district and  renowned personalities from various walks of life participated in the seminar which was held at Mahajan Sabha, here.
The seminar was inaugurated by party president, Anil Gupta in presence of the Prof.  Chaman Lal Gupta, former Union Minister of State,  Satpal Grover, Chairman JKDF,   Manmohan Gupta from Kishtwar and  Vice President JKDF,  Rakesh Gupta, president Byopar Mandal Kishtwar,  Prahlad Sharma, Senior. leader of JKDF from Kishtwar, Arun Gupta, secretary general, Chamber of Commerce, Jammu,  Deepak Agarwal, secretary Chamber of Commerce and all the office bearers of  State, Youth, Mahila and Student Wing  of JKDF.
During the deliberations the prominent citizens and party leaders presented their point of view regarding the communal riots and measures to be taken to prevent such episodes in future.  Such incidents are blot on the face of society.
While sharing their view point in seminar, Anil Gupta termed the incident as inhumane and preplanned to disturb the peace, communal harmony and integrity of State. The role of State  Government and shadow of doubt on one of the member of ruling coalition to instigate the riots is still to be the matter of probe. Highly disturbing is that the victims of communal frenzy in Kishtwar even after expiry of over four weeks have been deprived of relief and compensation.
Speaking on the occasion Rakesh Gupta, president Byopar Mandal, Kishtwar accused the Government of not fulfilling the promises regarding compensating the losses.
Mr. Manmohan Gupta  lauded the role of former Union Minister Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta who started “Doda Bachao Andolan” as a result of which the  VDCs were constituted  which played a vital role to eliminate the militancy from the area.
