JKAACL organizes Dogri Seminar

SAMBA, Dec 18: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages,  in collaboration with Director, School Education, Jammu,  organized one-day Dogri Seminar at Government Higher Secondary School for Boys Samba.
Sita Ram Sapolia, renowned Dogri writer and poet presided while Arvin Kumar Kaul, Principal, GHSS for Boys, Samba, was the chief guest. Mohan Singh, prominent Dogri writer,  presented key note address while  Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, JKAACL  and Dr Yash Pal Nirmal, Assistant Editor, Dictionary, JKAACL were also present in the presidium.
Sat Pal Sapolia, while delivering his presidential address, said that the district Samba has produced Dogri writers, poets and scholars who contributed significantly in the field of Dogri poetry, short story, playwriting and other forms of the literature with special reference to Kehar Singh Madhukar, Tara Samailpuri, Mohan Lal Saplolia.
Arvin Kumar Kaul, in his address, hoped that such efforts will succeed in awakening the youth in general and also help to hunt the hidden talent. He further assured cooperation in future for organizing such events in future also.
Earlier, while welcoming the guests, students and youth, Dr Arvinder Singh Amn said that number of activities related to art, culture and literature have been initiated in schools, colleges and universities with the mission to provide  platform to the youth and explore hidden talent amongst the youth. He also invited one and all to be  part of the 2-day All India Dogri Writers’ Conference on 22nd and 23rd of December, 2017 at Abhinav Theatre to celebrate Dogri Maanta Diwas.
Yash Pal Nirmal conducted  proceedings of the function and also presented vote of thanks.
The paper readers,  who presented their papers, include Mangal Das Dogra (Jila Samba Da Dogri Upnyas Gi Jogdaan), Dr Kuldip Dogra (Jila Samba Da Dogri Natak Gi Jogdaan),  Sunita Bhadwal (Jila Samba Da Dogri Kahani Gi Jogdaan) and Bishan Singh Dardi (Jila Samba Da Dogri Kavita Gi Jogdaan).
In the concluding function,  the poets who recited their poems on the Dogri Mushiara,  include: Narinder Kumar, Kuldip Raj, Chandu Bhau, Pritam Chand, Subhash Chander, Vishal, Raj Kumar, Daleep Kumar, Raj Kumar Dubey, Brahm Dutt, Vijay Kumar, Tinu Sharma, Baisakhi Ram, Keemat Lal, Sat Pal Gadwalia, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Kumar, Sampuran Chand and Ashok Gupta.
A book exhibition was also held in the school.
