J&K Senior Citizens Council projects demands

KISHTWAR, Nov 30: J&K Senior Citizens Council held a meeting under the chairmanship of Som Nath Sharma, in which large number of people participated.
In the meeting, the speakers highlighted the problems being faced by the senior citizens and demanded separate counters in the banking and other such institutions of common public interests, a day to be fixed for the check of the senior citizens in the hospitals with adequate bedding and free medicines, reduction in the senior citizens age from 65 to 60 and 50 per cent discount in SRTC buses, railways and airlines travel charges, adequate toilet facilities at different places of the Kishtwar district as well as the Chowgan gound.
While speaking, District President Roshan Lal Parihar assured to take up all the issues with the concerned authorities for redressal.
The participants of the meeting requested to the Minister for Social Welfare to bring a bill in the Legislative Assembly for the welfare of the senior citizens.
