J&K Bank holds awareness camps

SRINAGAR, June 11: J&K Bank conducted a series of financial camps in Kupwara and Kulgam districts during the last few weeks. The camps sponsored by NABARD witnessed good participation of people comprising of students, teachers, farmers, senior citizens and other local residents.
The bank’s center Kupwara organized two awareness camps in Teetwal and Tangdhar in coordination with Lead Bank Office and Cluster Office Kupwara. The Teetwal camp was conducted at the Government Higher Secondary School Teetwal while as the Tangdhar camp was was held in the Dak Bungalow.
Speaking at these camps Facilitator FLCC Kupwara explained in detail to audience the benefits of linking with the banks. He educated the students about the importance of opening the Savings Bank accounts and other deposit schemes with the bank.
He also informed the participants about recently launched social security schemes and the importance of keeping the accounts in active mode opened under the PMJDY.
LDM apprised the audience about various Government schemes like PMEGP, MUDRA and JLG for Women Self Help groups besides other loan schemes of the bank. The brochures on social security schemes and various bank products were distributed among the participants.
The Tangdhar camp was attended by the students of ITI Tangdhar and Trainees of Handloom & Handicrafts centers. The students and trainees were educated about education loan, dastkar finance besides ACC, WCC, MUDRA and various other schemes. The emphasis was laid on skill development to ensure employment generation.
The bank’s FLCC Kulgam organized financial literacy camps across the district including at Government Higher Secondary school DK Marg, Government Girls Higher Secondary School Katasoo, Government Boys Higher Secondary School Chawalgam Kulgam, Girls Higher Secondary School Kulgam, Badijahalan, Tangmarg and Kellam.
Facilitator FLCC Kulgam informed the audience about basics of financial planning besides latest bank products and other financial services. He urged the participants especially the student’s community to inculcate among themselves the habits of saving so as to meet the requirements of tomorrow.
Meanwhile, LDO RBI Ram Kuwar and DDM NABARD Rauf Ahmad also distributed few gift items to the students of Higher Secondary Chawalgam.
