Jeweller, banquet hall owner among 4 arrested with stake money

JAMMU, Oct 13: Police today arrested four persons including a jeweller and banquet hall owner along with around Rs 1 lakh stake money and playing cards from Bishnah.
As per police sources, acting on credible inputs, a police team led by SDPO RS Pura Surinder Choudhary along with Incharge District Police Sagar Singh and his team under the supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal conducted raid and arrested four persons along with Rs 99500 stake money and playing cards from Bishnah area.
The arrested persons have been identified as Rattan Lal (owner of Jewellery Shop at Vijaypur), son of Mulkh Raj of Ward Number 7, Vijaypur, Rajinder Kumar alias Pappu (driver), son of Vishwanath Sharma of Village Palli, Satish Sharma alias Kaka (owner of Krishna Palace at Sarore), son of Gian Chand Sharma of Sarore and Dalip Singh Mithu (prominent scrap dealer at Industrial Estate, Bari Brahmana), son of Gandarav Singh of Ward Number 4, Bari Brahmana.
Meanwhile, on seeing police cops for other gamblers identified as Ashwani Sharma alias Lovely (property dealer), son of Ganpati Sharma of Sarore, Nazir Hussain, son of Gagi Chohan of Nihalki, Bikram Singh alias Shoka (Owner of Printing Press at Peer Baba Bari Brahmana), son of Mangal Singh of Meen Charkan and Surinder Sharma alias Shindi (Naib Sarpanch), son of Tara Chand Sharma of Sarore managed to escape from the spot and hunt has been launched to nab them.
A case under Section 13 Gambling Act has been registered at Police Station Bishnah and investigation started.
