Jeera futures edge higher on spot demand

NEW DELHI, Aug 14:Jeera prices were trading higher by Rs 115 to Rs 19,775 per quintal in futures trade today as investors raised bets on higher export and spot demand.
Furthermore, restricted arrivals from growing regions also supported the jeera futures prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in September was trading higher by Rs 115, or 0.58 per cent, to Rs 19,775 per quintal, with an open interest of 432 lots.
The contract for current month delivery was trading at Rs 19,270, up 0.54 per cent, or Rs 105. The open interest of the contract stood at 8,346 lots.
Traders said speculative positions built up by the participants amid rising domestic as well as exports demand led to the rise in jeera prices. (PTI)
