KATHUA, Sept 30: Lakhanpur Police has arrested an Army jawan for spreading rumor and creating panic among the public late last night.
According to police Shamsher Singh an Army jawan, son of Ashok Kumar of Baghpur R S Pura who was traveling to Chandigarh from Jammu last night for his medical check up at Army hospital Chandigarh rang up his brother from the bus that the bus in which he was traveling has been hijacked.
Shocked over the message, his brother informed Police Control Room, Jammu who passed the message to District Police Kathua about the hijacking of the bus. The district Police informed Lakhanpur Police Station and asked it to investigate the matter. Soon after some time the Lakhapur Police saw the bus coming from Jammu. The Police stopped the bus and it was surprised to see the Army jawan was safe and sound. Police took him into custody and registered a case FIR No 75 under Section 505 against him for spreading rumor and creating panic.
