Jammu people feeling cheated by BJP: Balbir

BILLAWAR, Feb 4: Expressing his anguish over mounting problems of the common masses, Member Legislative Council (MLC) and senior Congress leader, Thakur Balbir Singh today said that during last three years PDP-BJP coalition regime has done nothing to solve basic problems of the people.
He said that people of Jammu, who had voted in favour of BJP, now feel cheated and betrayed because BJP ministers have become inaccessible and they are only protecting their petty personal interests at the cost of common masses.
Pointing towards results of recent bye-elections in Rajasthan, he said that countdown of BJP’s downfall has started because people have realized that it is “Jumlaybaz” Sarkar.
Addressing series of public meetings in Billawar assembly constituency during his two day tour to this belt, the MLC said that legalizing corruption and cheating people is only noticeable achievements of BJP ministers. He lambasted BJP leadership for shamelessly befooling people.
Instead of solving peoples’ problems, leaders of coalition are over-burdened with solving their own internal conflicts and bickerings. He said that three-year period of PDP-BJP regime is marked with conflict and fissures.
Balbir Singh observed that day-today problems of the people are compounding with every passing day and leaders of both the coalition partners are brazenly indulged into legalizing corruption and nepotism.
Lambasting coalition parties in general and BJP in particular, the Congress MLC said that this party has betrayed people of Jammu region  as nothing has been done to solve their day today problems.  He said that people of Kathua district had voted in favour of BJP during 2014 Parliament and Assembly elections but  the BJP has failed to come up to the expectations of the people.
Pointing towards recent exposure of corruption cases in the State,  Balbir Singh said that the BJP ministers are neck deep in corruption  and other leaders of ruling parties were indulged in accumulating huge wealth by misusing their position.
He regretted that common masses in the State have been struggling with number of problems but the members of the ruling coalition have been using state resources for their personal comforts.
