JAMMU, July 15: World Youth Skill Day was celebrated at ITI Jammu, with pomp and show here today.
The function was inaugurated by Rajinder Gupta, Deputy Director, Technical Education Jammu. On the occasion, Gupta highlighted the importance of skill development among youth and appealed the trainees to acquire various skills in their life.
Deputy Director Employment and Counselling, Jammu JKEDI and MSMEDI also highlighted various State and Central schemes run by their departments for the welfare of unemployed youths. Ex-trainees of ITI Jammu were also present on the occasion and shared their success stories among trainees.
Later on co-curricular activities were performed by the trainees of ITI, Jammu and women ITI, Jammu regarding skill awareness.
At last the event concluded by the Principal ITI, Jammu who gave vote of thanks to all the officers and officials present on the occasion and also emphasized upon the true benefits of demographic dividend that can only be achieved by skilling the youth.
