IRP officer electrocuted

JAMMU, July 16: An officer of Indian Reserve Police (IRP) was injured today due to electrocution in Thathar area falling under the jurisdiction of police post Chinore.
“Deputy SP VP Singh (55) son of Kulwant Singh, presently posted at IRP 17th Battalion came in contact with a high tension wire while doing some work at the roof of his house in Thathar area of Bantalab”, a police spokesman said.
He said due to electrocution, the officer received about 65 % burn injuries. His family members immediately shifted him to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where his condition was stated to be critical. The concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
