Interventional Pain Clinic procedures inaugurated at Govt Hospital Gandhi Nagar

JAMMU, Mar 11: Interv-entional Pain Clinic procedures were inaugurated today at Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar by Bali Bhagat, Minister for Health & Medical Education.
The inauguration was of unique feature as the Minister put his full faith on the doctors and himself volunteered to be the first patient to be treated in the operation theatre of Government Hospital Gandhinagar Jammu.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pain Clinic was inaugurated on October 20, 2016 at Government Hospital Gandhi nagar Jammu and recently new C- Arm was provided to the hospital and the pain clinic procedures started for which Bali Bhagat, who himself had chronic cervical pain, volunteered to get treatment at Gandhinagar Hospital.
Cervical epidural injection procedures are injections administered to relieve pain in the neck, shoulders and arms caused by a pinched nerve or inflamed nerve(s) in the cervical spine. Conditions such as herniated discs, spinal stenosis or arthritis can compress and pinch nerves, causing inflammation and pain.
The cervical epidural injection procedure involves injections into the surrounding area that help with pinched nerve pain management and decrease the swelling of the inflamed or pinched nerve(s), in addition to reducing inflammation.
On the occasion, Dr Gurjeet Singh, Director, Health Services Jammu, Dr Madhuri Slathia, Medical Superintendent, Dr Arun Sharma, Deputy Medical Superintendent, were present in the theater. The team of officers/officials in the theater included Dr Rohit Lahori, Consultant Pain, Dr Pankaj Surange, Consultant IPSC (Interventional Pain & Spinal Center, Delhi), Dr Laughi Bhan and Dr Sudhakar Sharma (Anesthetists), Dr KK Gupta (Physician), Dr Sudhir Sabharwal (Neurosurgeon), Rajinder Bhagat, Rakesh Bakshi and Ashok Kumar (Theater technicians).
