INTACH observes World Tourism Day

JAMMU, Sept 27: Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), Jammu Chapter in collaboration with New National Higher Secondary School, Miran Sahib observed World Tourism Day.
A painting competition was organized on the theme of “Sustainable Tourism” in which around 40 students from class 6th to 12th participated.
An interactive session was also held by SM Sahni, Convenor, INTACH Jammu Chapter on heritage and tourism in which gifts were also distributed to encourage students who answered the questions.
A class to class skit on “Swachhta Hi Sewa” was organised by students of class 4th and 5th to encourage sense of cleanliness and personal hygiene among students in observance of Swachhta Abhiyan.
Earlier, Balkaran Singh, Principal of the school welcomed Prof Anita Billawaria, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Jammu and Kuldeep Wahi who were chief guest and special guest respectively on the occasion.
Among others present were Abhimaniyu Billawaria and Satwant Singh Rissam.
At the end of the program, a special ‘Heritage Awareness Kit’ was presented to school by INTACH team.
