Party gives full credit to Dr Jitendra Singh
KATHUA, Sept 9: Terming the inking of Shahpur Kandi Project Agreement a great mile stone in the development and prosperity of the State, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) gave full credit for the same to Minister of State in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh who represents the Kathua -Doda Lok Sabha Constituency.
Talking to reporters here today, district president of the Party Prem Nath Dogra said the project along with construction of Ujh Barrage which too was sanctioned due to efforts of Dr Jitendra Singh will be a game changer for Jammu especially for Kandi belt of twin districts of Samba and Kathua. He lambasted the previous governments for deliberately sabotaging the project which could have boosted the agriculture production in these twin districts and turned the thousands of hectares of barren and Kandi land in green and there by brought cheers on the faces of farming community.
He said there was a mala fide interest to the leaders of National Conference, peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Congress who have never shown any interest that this project should get through as the Kashmir centric leaders of these parties were not interested in the development of this region and they played every trick in sabotaging the project.
He said it was due to efforts of Dr Jitendra Singh who in a short span of last four years brought several projects worth thousands of crores of rupees for Jammu region in general and his Constituency in particular.
He said to name some of them included Rs 2285 crore Shapur Kandi , 184 roads of 6200 crore , Medical Colleges, RUSA funded Engineering College for Kathua, AIIMS, Bio Technology Park, Seed Processing Plant, vast network of roads and bridges including Rs 160 crore inter-state Keriyan Gandyal bridge over river Ravi, Chattergala Tunnel, Express Way Corridor from Delhi to holy township of Katra via holy town of Amritsar in Punjab, Rs 170 crore Devika Rejuvenation Project in Udhampur, Radio Station in Udhampur, upgradation of Dreamland Park in Kathua, sanction of KVs in different parts of the Constituency with construction of new buildings for KVs etc.
He said Dr Jitendra Singh is a visionary leader who is working hard for the betterment of the people of entire State. He said it was with his efforts that the relief of Jammu migrants was made at par with Kashmiri migrants, POJK refugees compensation was sanctioned after 70 years and he has also taken up the cause of denizens of International Border by recommending that they too be given benefits of reservation at par with LoC people.
