HoD Medicine awarded with UK Fellowship

JAMMU, Aug 30: Dr Annil Mahajan, Professor & Head Department of Medicine GMC Jammu has been awarded most prestigious Fellowship of Royal College of Physicians Glasgow UK(FRCP). The royal college of Physicians is a British Professional Body of Doctors of General Medicine.
He is the only sitting faculty of GMC Jammu who has earned the honour of being awarded this distinct and rare highest academic fellowship for his academic achievements. Dr Mahajan has already to his credit various other prestigious national and international fellowships like Fellow of Indian College of Physicians (FICP), Fellow of Indian Academy of Clinical Medicine (FIACM) and Fellow of International Medical Science Academy (FIMSA).
He is also a recipient of prestigious GB Jain Oration of Indian academy Clinical Medicine. He has another distinct honour of being member executive committee of Medical Council of India which is a nine member national executive committee, a highest body governing, regulating & monitoring all medical colleges and medical education of the country.
Dr Mahajan has more than 80 research publications and more than 10 chapters in various postgraduate books and has edited prestigious National manuals of Indian Rheumatology Association and Indian Menopause Society. He is Founder Editor and Editor In General JK Science, the only highly indexed journal from this region for last sixteen years.
He has been a member of Editorial and Advisory Board of various National Medical Journals like JAPI, JICAM, JMH, JIMSA, JIMA. He has been nominated as Expert Member National Haemovigilance Advisory Committee, Govt. of India.
He has been principal investigator Jammu-BJD India national action network COPCORD and an Expert Faculty for framing National Treatment Guidelines of Postmenopausal Osteoporosis & Menopause. He is a regular invitee as a Faculty in various International and national Conferences of various medical organisations in the field of G Medicine, Rheumatology, HIV medicine & menopause.
