Hizb militant nabbed in north Kashmir

SRINAGAR, Apr 23: A joint team of Army and State police apprehended a Hizbul Mujahideen militant in north Kashmir district of Baramulla.

A defence ministry spokesman Lt Colonel N N Joshi said on a specific intelligence input regarding movement of some suspicious person in village Momus in Baramulla, a joint operation was launched yesterday at round 2100 hrs by Army and SOG of State Police.

He said during the operation, the team successfully apprehended a Hizbul Mujahideen militant along with one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and 20 rounds ammunition.

The militant has been identified as Bilal Ahmed Bhat, a resident of village Bhatpora, Kunzar in Baramulla, Lt Colonel Joshi added. (UNI)
