Hindu migrants for separate UT in Valley

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Aug 6: A joint meeting of  Kashmiri Khatri Hindu Maha Sabha (KKHMS), Kashmiri Khatri Youth Sabha (KKYS) and Displaced Kashmiri Unemployed Youth Union (DKUYU) was held at Jagti township near here today under the  chairmanship of   President of KKHMS, Er Ramesh Chander Mahajan.
Mahajan recalled horror of events starting from 1986 Anantnag riots, followed by threats ,intimidation and gruesome killing of prominent  members including intellectuals and writers while a lady was lynched on the saw mill, innocent people of the minority community were massacred and Sangrampora, Wandhhaama , Telvani and  Nadimarg  Chitsinhgpura massacres which eventually forced the entire minority community to live an exiled life  outside Valley as all doors of their return to Kashmir were closed.
He said all migrants are willing to return and need nobody’s advice in this regards under what circumstance they were forced to flee from the Valley and who were the elements responsible for that as they know every thing fully.
He said being the worst suffers of terrorism the Kashmiri migrants history has become a woeful tale. The State and Central Governments are responsible for the mass exodus and killing of minorities in the Valley. The land of  Kashmiri migrants in the Valley have mostly been grabbed by land mafia so displaced people are unable to settle in their native place.
He said now 28 years have passed and community is forced to live like as refugees in their own country and struggle for their survival though Government talks about the rehabilitation of the community in the Valley but there is no blue print for the same. Hence there is no alternative except settling the migrants in a separate Union Territory with guaranteeing a dignified life security and fundamental right to them, he added.
