Hakla for continuation of benefits to ST employees

Excelsior Correspondent
POONCH, Jan 21: Shamsheer Hakla Poonchi a prominent Gujjar leader and intellectual in an appeal to State Government has demanded continuation of reservation in promotions for the State Government employees belonging to Gujjar Bakerwal (ST community).
Hakla said in every sphere of life the reservation is need of hour for the hapless Gujjar and Bakerwal community who live in backwardness and abject poverty.
He said in order to compete the other people who are much ahead of them, the reservations is must.
Hakla said even after 25 years of granting the ST Status  to Gujjars and Bakerwals by Government of India the people of the community are still deprived of its full benefit and they are educationally, politically, socially and economically lagging far behind.
He said the J&K State has been deliberately depriving the community of the benefits under ST status though GoI has taken various measures for the upliftment of these hapless people.
