Gurezi reviews physical, financial progress of ASH schemes

JAMMU, Jan 28: Minister of State for Animal and Sheep Husbandry, PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Nazir Ahmad Gurezi today inspected Central Veterinary Hospital (CVH), Jammu and took stock of facilities available in the hospital besides its functioning.
The Minister directed the concerned to ensure cleanliness in and around the hospital, besides maintaining decorum.  He also directed the hospital management to carry out renovation and facelift of the hospital building and fix floor tiles in the premises to maintain cleanliness.
Later, the Minister chaired two separate high level meetings with the officers of Animal Husbandry and Sheep Husbandry (ASH) Departments and reviewed the physical and financial progress under various Centrally sponsored schemes (CSSs) besides overall functioning of these departments.
The Minister directed the officers of Animal and Sheep Departments to speed up the pace of work on all under construction veterinary buildings and complete these in a stipulated time frame.
While reviewing the achievements registered by the Animal  Husbandry Department, he was informed that under ESVHD 6 and under RID Feight veterinary buildings have been completed during 2013-14 while as 20 buildings are nearing completion.
It was also informed in the meeting that 10 awareness camps were held under Rashatrya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) and 10700 poultry units were established under Rural Backyard Poultry Scheme.
Discussing the issue of vacancies in the departments, it was informed that 591 officials of various cadres have been regularized by the Department Promotion Committee, while as 38 class IV vacancies have been filled up in Poonch and Kathua districts.
In addition, 38 class IV vacancies of Jammu, Samba and Udhampur districts have also been filled up during the current year.
Addressing the meeting, the Minister directed for formulation of action plans so that the funds under different schemes were utilized well in time. He also directed for full utilization and judicious use of funds.
Among others, Commissioner Secretary ASH, Sarita Chouhan, Director Animal Husbandry Jammu, Director Sheep Husbandry Jammu and other officers of the twin departments were present in the meeting.
