Gur prices remain steady in thin trade

NEW DELHI, July 7: There was no change in the pattern of trading at the wholesale gur (jaggery) market in the national capital as prices continued to be enquired at previous closing levels for want of support.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets too showed a similar trend in the absence of any fruitful direction.
Marketmen said muted demand due to off season along with reduced arrivals from manufacturing belts because of unfavourable weather conditions for manufacturing held gur prices unaltered.
Following are today’s rates (in Rs per quintal):
Gur chakku Rs 3,300-3,400, pedi Rs 3,300-3,400, dhayya Rs 3,500-3,600 and shakkar Rs 3,600-3,700. Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,550-2,600, chakku Rs 2,850-3,000, khurpa NA and  Ladoo NA.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 3,000-3,100 and dhayya NA. (PTI)
