JAMMU, Apr 25: Terming the Chinese intrusion in Ladakh as a very serious development, the former MoS Defence, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has stressed for all out efforts to get vacated the occupied areas and strong measures to protect the frontiers of the country.
Prof. Gupta said that the designs of Chinese towards Indian were always not friendly and the northern frontiers as also in the northeast  were always under stress and strains. But during some years in the past, the aggressive postures coupled with hobnobbing of China with Pakistan had surfaced from time to time. But it was unfortunate that men in authority in New Delhi did not take the developments with the seriousness which situation demanded, he added.
He said that the lukewarm approach to tackle such forces is a cause of concern. The whole approach should be reviewed and no stone should remain unturned to get vacated occupied areas, he added.
Prof. Gupta said that it was s strange situation that on one hand the China is making ha out of the trade by flooding its goods in India but at the same time was adopting the aggressive postures and trying to jeopardize the unity and integrity of the country.
All this recoils and puts a question mark over the policies and approach of the Government at New Delhi. Hence, there is also the need that the countrymen should put pressure at the Centre to act effectively to protect the borders and give strong message to such hostilities to make realize one and all that India is strong nation and have the capacity and will to protect their frontiers and interests.
Peace and friendship is good as a slogan but to achieve this objective no vacillation in actions would work, especially the experiences of the past including that of 1962 is there that how China could be relied upon, he added.
