Gujjars favour dialogue with Bar, Jammu groups

JAMMU, Apr 10:  The Gujjars of Jammu and Kashmir today asked Jammu High Court Bar Association  (JHCBA) and other groups who are opposing tribal issues- let’s have a dialogue to settle doubts.
In a programme organised by ribal Research and Cultural Foundation to discuss ‘latest issues  of tribal community ’ the community members  said nomads are already in trouble due to tremendous pressures on them. They are looking for help from all quarters purely on humanitarian grounds, to run their livelihood.
Today’s  appeal was issued by the community leaders  in reaction to and bandh call given by Jammu High Court Bar Association (JHCBA) and  alleging thereby  that Gujjar-Bakerwal community  encroaching State land in the outskirts of Jammu . The Gujjar community members   termed such statement as obnoxious and expressed anguish over growing intolerance towards tribal community. Dr Javaid Rahi  stated that lets have a conversation on various issue to resolve doubts emerging among communities. He asked Jammu High Court Bar Association (JHCBA)  president to have a fair view on the issue.
” Lets not think on  communal lines. We the Gujjars and Dogras are brothers  living together since centuries and  such division  is against the interest communities and the state, ‘’ he added.
