Govt to pay relief to land row victims

JAMMU, Jan 10: The Government has decided to bring 2008 Amarnath land row victims under the ambit of Rs 5 lakh compensation and extreme compassionate job, which was yesterday announced by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for 2016 Kashmir summer unrest victims.
Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh told the Excelsior that families of all 12 persons killed during 2008 Amarnath land agitation in Jammu will get Rs 5 lakh compensation and job on extreme compassionate grounds on the pattern of Kashmir unrest victims.
He said the Chief Minister has given nod to the decision.
Earlier, Legislative Assembly Speaker Kavinder Gupta today directed the Government to pay compensation to 2008 Amarnath land row victims on the pattern of Kashmir unrest and withdraw cases registered during `Tiranaga Yatra’.
Gupta passed the direction before the Chief Minister started her reply to debate on Motion of Thanks to Governor’s Address in the Legislative Assembly.
