Govt, PDP to bring Mahore on development map of J&K: Madni

MAHORE, Sept 16: Saying that People’s Democratic Party is committed to the development   of all neglected and far flung regions of the State, vice president, Mohammad Sartaj Madni today asserted that Mahore would be brought on the developmental map of the State through various interventions.
Addressing workers here during his tour of the district, Sartaj Madni said the PDP Government is making various developmental interventions in Mahore which are set to strengthen rural infrastructure in the area besides creating employability for the local people.
The party vice president reminded people that PDP was instrumental in replacing sense of fear among people of far flung areas like Mahore with sense of empowerment and participation during its previous regime from 2002 to 2005. As a sequel to this, he said, Mahore is being connected to the developmental flight of the State through various interventions of various Departments of the Government. He said Mahore is being connected with Pir Panchal and Chenab regions through road networks including Gulabgarah road which would give its people improved access and connectivity.
Sartaj Madni said Reasi district holds an important historical place in Jammu province and the present Government is making all efforts to restore this position to it. He said possibilities of developing tourism facilities at Salal Dam would be explored which would give economy of the area a big boost. He described Chenab river as a gold mine of progress for the district adding all efforts would be made to tap the potential of its waters.
On this occasion, hundreds of Congress and NC workers left their respective parties and joined PDP. Mohammad Sartaj Madni welcomed them all and hoped that their joining will give boost to the party image in the region.
RDD Minister Ab Haq Khan gave details of how Rural Development projects have reached Mahore and adjoining areas and people of the region are benefitting from good work being done by the department. He said that Rural Development will take care of scheme for poverty elevation through infrastructure building and accessibility to poor.
Others who addressed the public gathering included Shafeeq-ur-Rehman, former MLC Asgar Ali, Kabla Singh, Chander Mohan and other party leaders.
