Govt formulating Vision Document for promotion of tourism: Lone

JAMMU, Mar 29: Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone today informed the Lower House that Government is in process of preparing a Vision Document after making a comprehensive assessment of all potential areas for development of tourism in the State.
Replying to a question by Ranbir Singh Pathania, LA here the Minister said the Vision Document would contain details of potential un-tapped areas of the State including areas of Ramnagar constituency.
The Minister said that department has created tourist facilities at some of the pilgrim spots through Directorate of Tourism Jammu, Surinsar-Mansar and Patnitop Development Authority in the area. He said village Pingla Mata Udhampur has been sanctioned as tourist village at a cost of Rs. 50 lakh in the year 2012-13 besides development of Dalsar Lake has also been undertaken at a cost of Rs. 3 crore during 2012-13.
He said under State Plan at a cost of Rs. 2.25 crore, infrastructure development of Khoon temple Udhampur, landscaping around Dalsar Lake besides facilities around Chuntra Mata have also been undertaken. He said several works have been carried out through Surinsar-Mansar and Patnitop Development Authorit-ies in the area.
Mr. Lone said Thalora-Manwal and Battal villages have already been included in the jurisdiction of Surinsar-Mansar Development Authority; however, village Sehhal does not fall under the jurisdiction of Surinsar-Mansar Authority, adding that Garh Shrma Banj also does not fall under the jurisdiction of Patnitop Development Authority and at present there is no proposal for its development.
Legislators, G. M. Saroori, Yawar Dilawar Mir and Sheikh Ishfaq Jabar raised the supplementaries to the main question.
