JAMMU, May 4:  Chief spokesperson  of Pradesh Congress Committee  Ravinder Sharma today met the agitating PHE workers at Sunderbani  and assured support to their cause, who are agitating for the past 55 days, seeking their regularization and release of wages.
Accompanied  by senior  leaders of Block Congress Committee,  Mr Sharma extended full support to the demands of daily wagers/casual workers/ITI need based/cp workers/ITI trained and other similar categories of workers agitating for their demands for regularisation and regular wages. The agitating workers criticised the State Govt for its failure to address their genuine issues despite assurances  from time to time. They  threatened to intensify the agitation, if the Govt failed to concede their genuine demands.
Mr Sharma lashed out at the PDP-BJP Coalition Govt for its failure to solve the genuine demands of agitating workers and assured full support to their cause. The daily rated workers of different categories of PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control besides other departments have been struggling for their just demands seeking regular wages as per work which is their right besides regularisation policy but the indifferent attitude of the Government has forced them to go on roads which has resulted into near collapse of water supply system in most rural areas of the State.
The Government will have to face a tough time if it fails to respond at the earliest as the Congress would expose the failures of the Government both inside and outside the ‘House’. The Congress would ‘Gherao’ the secretariat on May 9 over various issues of the general public in order to compel this government to  address the genuine problems and the promises made to the people by the two parties during the elections.
